With Broadwing's all-optically switched network, provisioning times are dramatically decreased by "point-and-click" technology. Broadwing's entire all-optically switched network is controlled from an intelligent, remote management system that enables near real-time provisioning. Without the need for field intervention, we are able to remotely provision, substantially decreasing provisioning times. Our network infrastructure also reduces operating expenditures, equipment requirements, and conversion-based latency associated with traditional networks.

Broadwing also operates an award-winning OC48 speed, IP backbone. Our IP network is divided into eight core regions that allow us to transport signals directly between regions. This technology significantly speeds actual data throughput by minimizing the number of signal hops and allows us to carry more high-quality voice, video and time-critical data over the Internet for our customers.
