Interconnect Services Group was founded as Target Telecom in 1984
by Jon Kaufman, who remains as owner and President today. Target was
an interconnect company which provided business phone systems to
clients in the New York tri-state metropolitan region. In 1990 the
company entered the long distance arena as a reseller of network
products from several major carriers. By 1996 with a national
presence, strong independent distribution channels as well as direct
sales, Target had grown into TTI National, the largest WorldCom
reseller, with annual sales of $80 million. In 1996 WorldCom
purchased the TTI National name and customer base, and hired ISG to
run the business for several years. When WorldCom finally migrated
the customer base to its own systems, ISG retariffed under the NBS
name (Network Billing Systems) and reentered the long distance
market.
With its own systems for electronic provisioning, customer care, and
flexible billing, ISG interfaces with several major carriers
including WorldCom, Qwest, Global Crossing, and Focal. ISG provides
support for its own retail customer base as well as back-office
support for wholesale clients ranging from small resellers to large
carriers. ISG also maintains its own switches for calling card,
debit card, and specialized applications. ISG still leads the field
with knowledgeable personnel and sophisticated systems designed to
support agents.
Today ISG provides a wide variety of telecommunications products to
a diverse customer base that includes residential, small business,
and large corporate clients. ISG remains privately held, debt free,
and profitable. |
